After some adjustments the Kammerud Racing Team has the Scotts Engine Shop powered Affordable Chassis Super Stock finding the groove. Last week finishing third in the feature and this week winning the heat race then having a good showing in the feature. The 15th place feature finish didn’t do the showing justice after running up front then having the right front tire came off the bead.
In the current issue of Midwest Racing Connection I did an interview for the in the Driver Seat section. Check it out by clicking this link: www.kammerudracing.com/midwest.pdf For more information on the Midwest Racing Connection gotohttp://www.theracingconnection.com

The Kammerud Racing Team started the season on April 16th at the Cedar Lake Speedway with some practice sessions. It was an interesting transition from the Street Stock to the Super. The Super had way more power and the steering quicker was a big adjustment. The baseline setup from Affordable Chassis was pretty close as the car was good right out of the box.
The real challenge was Friday April 17th when the green flag waved in my first heat race. Much to my surprise and to most everyone else’s surprise the 99 car took off in the heat race passing three competitors to pick up the win in my FIRST EVER RUN in the Super. When going over the scale I drew the pole position. When the green flag dropped over the Cedar Lake Speedway in the feature I was able to lead, but it was short lived as the car got tight and I fell back ending the night in the 8th spot.
For the third and final day of the week at Cedar Lake Speedway I started the heat race fourth and finished 3rd. For the feature I started fifth and finished 6th. All very good runs for the first weekend out.
Shawn Kammerud was pleased to see a two page photo of the 99k racing three wide in the February edition of the Dick Berggren’s Speedway Illustrated. Shortly after Speedway Illustrated came out the 99k also got another full page of exposure in the 2008 edition of Hawkeye Racing News’s Home Town Heroes.
